The Society for International Development and the Institute of Social Studies/EUR, The Hague, will host a panel session at the CSW NGO Forum, New York, on 'GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE, POWER AND SOCIAL CHANGE: THE CONTRIBUTION OF TRANSANTIONAL FEMINIST MOVEMENTS'.
The Oxford Handbook of Transnational Feminist Movements edited by Rawwida Baksh and Wendy Harcourt will be launched during the session

JOIN US! CSW NGO Forum, New York, Tuesday, March 17th, 4:30-6:00 pm, Church Center, Boss Room
The editor Wendy Harcourt and authors: Ana Agostino, Joanne Sandler, Rosalind Petchesky, Alexandra Garita, Zohra Khan, Anita Vandenbeld, Dianne Rocheleau, Lanyan Chen, and Peggy Antrobus will join Khawar Mumtaz and Loes Keysers in a fishbowl discussion to debate the book’s message about the major contributions of transnational feminist movements to global knowledge, power and social change in the last 50 years. Participants will reflect candidly on the struggles of transnational feminist movements to transform the international political economy, development and peace processes in a myriad of formal and informal processes.
On this occasion, the  SID quarterly journal Development  has made available journal's past contribution to these debates with an online collection on 'Gender Equality'  with a selection of articles published between 2005 and 2014, in order to reflect on the progress of gender equality in this last decade, as well as the losses and further challenges ahead.
