Produced on the occasion of the AWID Forum 2012, this issue highlights the feminist debate on economic development looking at macro and micro issues. It explores how economic power is impacting on women as well as contributing to cutting edge analysis for diverse economies that take into account women's economic rights.

As a follow-up to the 12th International Forum on women's rights and development, the Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) commissioned and coordinated the French and Spanish translation of a selection of articles from the journal Development 55.3. Click here

SID and AWID organized the official Dutch launch and reception of the Development issue on Gender and Economic justice with the participation of Lydia Alpízar Durán (AWID), Ireen Dubel (Hivos) and Wendy Harcourt (Editor Development). With films, discussions and a chance to network informally, the event has been an interesting occasion to discuss gender and economic justice issues in the context of the post 2015 development agenda.

Gender and economic justice' has been officially launched by SID and AWID on the 26th of September, 5 pm, in New York at Beekman Tower Hotel, 49th & 1st, 3 Mitchell Place. Stefano Prato, Managing Director of SID and Managing Editor of the journal, and Lydia Alpízar Durán, Executive Director of AWID introduced the conversation while journal authors Radhika Balakrishnan (Center for Womens Global Leadership) and Bhumika Muchhala (Third World Network) presented some of the key features of the journal.
