Education: The key to transformation. Interviews with authors and launch event of Development 53.4 in Nairobi
As the last issue in the journal volume on Revisiting Human Development, the central question asked is: how does education, both formal and informal, prepare individuals from early years onwards for full citizenship and participation in democracy in today's global world? As the interviews with four authors - Regina Cortina, Shivali Lawale, Stephen Heyneman, Conrad Wesley Snyder, Jr. - show, the practice of education is a multilayered conversation determined by different social, economic and political contexts. They underscore that wherever you live education is not just a 'service': it is one of the core pathways to human sustainable development.
