Sixty organisations from 24 countries participated inthe Global Day of Action Against the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank Group (WBG) last October 15, during the recently concluded 2021 Annual Meetings.

Climate-saving, gender-transformative, democratic public services are possible .
They are crucial in responding to the world’s crises. The COVID-19 pandemic has cast into stark relief the consequences of decades of privatisation and commercialisation of essential public services. Over 450 Public Development Banks (PDBs) from around the world are gathering in Rome from 19 to 20 October 2021 for a second international summit, dubbed Finance in Common.

Youths looking to make submissions should address at least 2 barriers to the uptake of sustainable forms of energy in their country of origin and/or East Africa.  
Some of the barriers we have identified through our projects are (but not limited to): 
  • Lack of specific (or clarity in) policy, regulations, and technical standards. 
  • Lack of political goodwill and competing interests.
