This project seeks to advance place inequalities high on the political and policy agenda for the coming decade. The project was involved in conceptualization of the Africa-wide Conference on “Tackling Inequalities in the Context of Structural Transformation”, which took place from 28-30 April 2014, in Accra, Ghana.
The project has generated country case studies from the four regions of the continent as well as contributed to building a coalition of African individuals and institutions that intend to deliberately address challenges of inclusion and equity.
The project has also generated the Africa Inequalities portal www.africainequalities.org free access and open source website aimed to provide users with information and in-depth knowledge on Africa's inequality related issues. A key feature to the site is the online library collection of journals, research analysis, blog articles and other digital docs. The website aims to reinforce the position of addressing inequalities in the context of the post 2015 development agenda and concurrently serving to advance Africa's 2063 agenda which seeks to develop the continent's growth trajectory for the next 50 years.
