Addressing Kenya Inequalities at County Level

As follow up of SID study on Kenya Inequalities, SID is organizing County meetings in partnership with the  Ward representatives from 10 Counties in Kenya to disseminate the research findings of the study.

The County meetings are designed to give the Ward representatives and citizens of those Counties an opportunity to discuss the emerging patterns of inequalities as well as jointly map out ways of mitigating these. Ten pilot counties have been selected, namely: Elgeyo Marakwet, Kakamega, Migori, Nairobi, Bomet, Baringo, Siaya, Kilifi, Nyeri and Isiolo.

The County Assembly Forum  held a first planning meeting on April 20th, 2015, with the objective for the community members to agree on the design of the public participation forum and discuss the data generated by the SID study and its implications for budget forecasting and planning.
