Resources On the Move
Resources On the Move is so to speak a ‘section on the move’ designed to be constantly subject to changes, updates and additional insertions. A selection of links to organisations, initiatives, blogs, institutional websites, research papers, videos and alike, will be gradually collected, organised and shared in these pages. It represents the first attempt to create – within HuMobs – a collective space for mutual sharing of relevant information and resources.
If you wish to be included here or to send updates and suggestions, please contact the Humobs desk.
Organisations and research centres: It presents a selection of organisations, networks, research centres, advocacy groups and alike, focusing on human mobility and other related issues, in Africa, Europe and elsewhere. The selection includes both links to institutional and to non governmental organisations operating at regional, international and inter-governmental level.

Data & Stat: Little awareness, lack of systematic data, and repetitive knowledge and information – on patterns, dynamics and consequences of the international migration – seem to permeate virtually all levels, from government institutions to civil society, in the media and in the public. This was a major claim in the Global Commission on International Migration final report (2005) and still remains a major constraint today for policy research. With regards to the African migration, unfocused knowledge and several common senses persist and may impede a process of political understanding, that is coherent, consistent and inclusive of all needs and priorities of sending, transit and receiving countries. This section presents a preliminary selection of links to data, figures and facts on population and mobility. The aim is to highlight, on a regular basis, basic facts on migration as food for thoughts on topics that are usually either ignored or misinterpreted. The list is not complete and is open to further contribution. Send us your indication and suggestion at the following address: angela@sidint.org
