SID has a strong and vibrant network of individual and institutional members, local chapters and partner organisations, in more than 80 countries. It works with more than 100 associations, networks and institutions involving academia, parliamentarians, students, political leaders and development experts, both at local and international level. This makes of SID one of the few organisations with a holistic, multi-disciplinary and multi-sectorial approach to development and social change. Since its inception in 1957, SID has always acted as a unique global space for honest dialogue and effective interconnectedness among diverse  actors at community, national, and international level.
