The Future of International Cooperation. SID Conference in The Hague

On Thursday 7 March 2013 SID Netherlands organises the conference The Future of International Cooperation in The Hague. It marks the closing of a consultation process ‘Beyond ODA: towards a new perspective on international cooperation for development: new actors, new instruments’, organised in cooperation with the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO), the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) and the NCDO.

Speakers including Donald Kaberuka (African Development Bank), Sarah Cook (UNRISD), Pavan Sukhdev (GIST Advisory), and Pascal Lamy (WTO) will reflect on and discuss recommendations for rethinking and transforming the development agenda. These Building blocks for international cooperation have been drafted based on discussions that took place in the fall of 2012 between representatives from government, civil society, science and businesses in the Netherlands.  At the end of the day, conclusions will be presented to Minister Ploumen, Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
