Development 55.4 'African Strategies for Transformation' brings together reflections on African development strategies over the last decade highlighting the myriad of innovative activities for African-led economic and social change.
Throughout this issue, the authors emphasize and provide their thoughts on what they believe the transformation of Africa means to them and where they see the trajectory of Africa heading. It strikes a critical balance in appreciating the general optimism associated with Africa today but it is keenly aware of the many challenges that can easily reverse the positive trajectory taking place.
A press release is available on the dedicated blog of DevelopmentPLUS, the online component to Development, hosted on the SID Forum. Read the editorial by Wendy Harcourt: Reclaiming a Continent and the introduction by Charles Onyango-Obbo: The Cynics, Optimists and Pirates are all Making Africa Beautiful.
