Annual Conference and September Agenda

On Friday September 14 the SID NL annual conference The State in a Globalizing World: Providing Water in Africa will take place in the Glazen Zaal in The Hague. The conference is the closing session of the SID 2011-2012 Lecture Series ‘The State in a Globalizing World: problematic, yet indispensable’. The conference will look at the role of the state in providing public goods, and the experience with public-private partnerships in providing drinking water to households in Africa. What works and what does not? What is the potential of private sector involvement, and which role remains for the state? Click here for further information.

Thursday 20 September | Kick off Bread&Brains Lunch Series with Peter van Uhm
From September 2012 onwards, SID and The Humanity House start a new initiative: The Bread and Brains Lunch Series. Every third Thursday of the month, a lecture will take place at the Humanity House, during lunch hours. Please find the invitation here and visit the website of Humanity House.

Tuesday 25 September 2012 | Start of the new lecture series 2012-2013 'More than 50 years of ODA: lessons learned and new approaches’
The first lecture and discussion will take place on Tuesday September 25 at 17:00h, The Atrium at the VU. For more information, please visit the series’ page.
This lecture series is integral to a new Master Course, presented by the VU University and the Institute of Environmental Studies (IVM) and open to all Master students from Dutch and European Universities! For more information click here.
